Today we had a party for Amelia's first birthday. The weather was wonderful and the kids got to go to the park in the afternoon. Here are some highlights from the day.
Today is Amelia's first birthday. We're having a party for her next Sunday, but we thought we'd have a special birthday breakfast today. Here she is eating her waffle with bananas and cool-whip.
My friend Christin was over yesterday and she was able to get Amelia's (or should I say Pebbles') hair into a ponytail. Her first one ever. I'm sure there will be many more in the future whether she likes it or not. By the way, those are crackers in her mouth, not more teeth.
Last night I grabbed the spray-n-wash to pre-treat the chocolate that was on Micah's easter sweater-vest. After about 8 squirts I gasped. It was Clorox Clean-Up, not spray-n-wash. So, I squirted bleach right on the brown diamond on his sweater. It made me sick. It looks a little faded, but not too bad. Its in the wash right now. Ugh.
We had a great Easter yesterday. We met my sister and her family at my parent's house and they had an easter egg hunt for the kids. It was very fun.
The Easter Bunny even brought Micah a gift. You see, the Easter Bunny brings us a gift every year to remind us that Jesus was the best gift of all. (Am I a genious or what?)
Amelia will be a year on the 15th and today was the first day she has sat in grass. It was hilarious. We all walked down to the park this afternoon because it was such a gorgeous day. Micah even put shorts on. I put Amelia down in the grass with a toy and she sat so still. She didn't know what to think of it. She would move her hands down to touch it and then stop, barely feeling the tip of the grass. Then she saw something and started to move to crawl to it, but froze and sat still again. I found a new way to keep her out of the things she shouldn't touch. I just need a patch of grass in my living room. Dad? Can you build that for me?
Micah: Look at the Moon! (It was full and bright) Ryan: Did you know that God made the moon? Micah: Yeah. (pause) I think God takes a knife and cuts the moon. Our thoughts: Huh? Oh, like for the crescent moons.
Last night we came home late (9:00) and both kids were sleeping in the car. I took Amelia and put her down and she didn't make a peep. Ryan put Micah down and he didn't even wake up. This is very unusual for our kids. It was the cutest they've ever been going to bed.
